IN just nine weeks, customers of the Horn of Plenty Country House Hotel and Restaurant near Tavistock have raised a staggering £6,667 for Macmillan Cancer Support, thus helping local people affected by cancer.
Julie Leivers, owner of the hotel said: 'We wanted to do something that would really help the local community, and Macmillan has some great services in Devon,' said Julie.
The charity lunches run each year between January and March.
Julie said: 'Our customers have given so generously and we want to thank them for being so supportive of our choice of charity.'
Sian Harris, local Fundraiser for Macmillan Cancer Support said: 'We are really grateful to The Horn of Plenty for nominating Macmillan to benefit from their charity lunches, and want to say a huge thank you to all the customers who donated so generously. Their support will make a real difference to the lives of people affected by cancer. We are totally reliant on donations to continue our services, so local support like this is fantastic.'
