TAVISTOCK'S Make A Difference charity held a successful fundraising day on Saturday, to raise money to install a stairlift at the premises in Taylor Square.
Visitors to the event at the charity's base at Trident House, enjoyed a barbecue in the courtyard garden as well as a bric-a-brac stall, cake stall, tombola and plant sale with many plants donated by Endsleigh Garden Centre in Milton Abbot.
The charity also held a 'guess the weight' competition of a chocolate cake made by member Sally Skelly and won by Mrs Palmer of Tavistock.
A raffle was held which raised £160, and £267 was raised overall.
Charity founder Sandy Edney said: 'It was a really good day. Many thanks to everyone, members and visitors who helped make the day a success.'
The charity supports mental health recovery and the money raised will be used to install a stair lift at Trident House to enable people with mobility problems to access the upper floors and participate in the other activities provided.
The centre is open three times a week on Mondays, 10.30am to 12.30pm, Wednesdays, 1pm to 4pm, and Fridays, 2pm to 4pm.
The charity is always in need of volunteers. Anyone interested in helping, should call 01822 613746 at the above times or 07766768048 at other times.
