MANY rounds of golf were enjoyed by Tavistock rotarians recently as the Rotary Club held a successful golf day to raise funds for the Chestnut Appeal.
The event raised £2,500 for the Chestnut Appeal, which gives support to men with prostate cancer across the South West.
The club's president, Wally Lake, expressed thanks to all the teams of players as well as the contributors and sponsors of the event. He said: 'We chose the Chestnut Appeal this year because, apart from doing a lot of good for us men, this is a local charity that supports men with prostate cancer throughout Devon and Cornwall.'
Mr Lake presented the cheque to representative of the Chestnut Appeal, Lesley-Ann Simpson (pictured above), who thanked the club and said the donation would be a major contribution towards a set of headlights, which will help to train the next generation of prostate surgeons.
