A CHARITY ball is being held at the Moorland Links Hotel on Saturday, October 3.

The event is being organised by Trevor Paddon-Hall, of Bere Alston, on behalf of the Order of St Lazarus of Jerusalem, and bookings are requested as soon as possible.

Tickets are £40 per head, with a reception at 7pm preceding the dinner.

The charity has recently sent a 20-tonne lorry to Ivana, Belarus, with children's clothing and medical and school equipment.

Money and goods have also gone to Zimbabwe, and clothes, sewing machines, sleeping bags and dried food to Zambia.

Blankets, clothes and medical equipment have been sent to Romania.
