A CHARITY art auction in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support will feature more than 100 donated pieces of art.

The event, being held in The Parish Rooms in Tavistock on Saturday, May 19, was the idea of Howard du Ross, a local artist and sculptor. Howard had received such amazing support from the local Macmillan team he decided to help raise money to enable them to assist as many people as possible.

He spoke to a few local artists and various art groups, both professional and creators, and got a very positive response which has led to a small dedicated team putting this event together and giving their time and skills to the event.

Items include work by Launceston-based naive artist Karen Farrington, whose pieces, like the one pictured, also feature in a new two-month exhibition at the Dragonfly Cafe in Tavistock displaying the work of artists from Devon and Cornwall. Karen experiments with colour and unusual perspectives.
