DARTMOOR National Park Authority has granted permission for Brentor Methodist Chapel to be converted into two-bedroom accommodation and an office. The chapel, a listed building, is currently used as a Sunday School. The committee said all internal features, including the pews, should be retained, after the historic buildings officer amplified the history and importance of the building. Members considered a watching brief condition to ensure a historic buildings officer was present during works to the main chapel. The parish council representative drew members? attention to the residential tranquility of the village and the unsuitability of the roads for additional use and the fact that parking was already at a premium. Committee members heard there had been some objections from residents who were concerned about the conversion.
