THERE?s a chance to enjoy a guided tour of the last castle ever to be built in England this weekend, when Castle Drogo opens its doors for three weeks of special, 1-hour tours.

The tours of the castle, perched high above the Teign Gorge near Drewsteignton, last approximately one hour, although there are half-hour family tours available too.

The tours will take visitors around the castle including the library, drawing room, kitchens and sculleries.

They will take place on Saturdays and Sundays at 11.30am, 12.30pm, 1pm, 2pm, 3pm and 3.30pm from this weekend until March 23. Family tours are at 12 noon and 2.30pm, for families with children aged 12 years and under.

The guided tours are free although normal entrance charges apply.

Castle Drogo re-opens fully on March 29. New opening times for 2003 are daily between 11am and 5.30pm except Tuesdays. The gardens are open every day between 10.30am to 5.30pm ? similar opening hours apply to the shop and tea room.

The restaurant will be open from March 29 to June 30 and September 1 to November 2 weekends only and daily between 12 noon to 5.30pm from July 2 to 31 August, except Tuesdays.
