TAW Valley Creamery in North Tawton has scooped the best creamery accolade and nine medals at the British Cheese Awards. The processing unit is one of four owned by The Cheese Company, which has confirmed its position as one of the nation?s leading producers of high quality regional cheeses. Two gold medals went to Taw Valley for its Red Leicester and Double Gloucester, three silver for its Red Leicester and Churnton and three bronze for its cheddar and Churnton cheeses. In total, The Cheese Company, which employs 1,000 staff, won 20 awards.
