THIS Saturday sees the opening of the South West Peninsula Premier League season and Tavistock have been handed a stern test when they visit last seasons league champions Bodmin Town — kick off is at 3pm.
The club's first home fixture will be at Langsford Park on Wednesday, August 12 when it entertains a rejuvenated St Blazey team - kick off is at 7.30pm. This is followed by a visit to Barnstaple Town in the first preliminary round of the F A Cup on Saturday August 15 — kick off is at 3pm.
The club entertains Holsworthy on August 22, followed by Saltash United on Saturday, August 29. However, if the Lambs are victorious at Barnstaple then this fixture will be cancelled, as this is the date set aside for the second preliminary round of the F A Cup, which would see the Lambs travel to Poole Town or Welton Rovers.
On Bank Holiday Monday, August 31, the Lambs travel to the newly promoted Bovey Tracey.
The Reserves start their East Cornwall Premier League campaign on Saturday, August 15, with a visit to Plymouth Parkway — kick off is at 3pm. This is followed by the local derby at Bere Alston on Tuesday, August 18 ‚ kick off at 6.30pm.
They then travel to Bude the following Saturday before they play their first home fixture against Plymouth Parkway on August 26 — kick off is at 7.30pm. The following Saturday they visit Saltash United.
The club is optimistic that this will be a really good season and they invite supporters to come on down to Langsford Park to support your local football club.
