BUSINESSES in Okehampton are receiving top business advice thanks to the town's chamber of trade.
The chamber is working in partnership with the new Okehampton Work Hub to deliver a series of business advice sessions to local businesspeople.
The first session took place on March 20 at Okehampton Business Centre, giving lessons on using social media. Several businesses took part, learning about the benefits of using Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and other internet platforms to promote their businesses. By the end of the session, everyone had set up a Twitter account.
Lisa Wadling, Okehampton town promotions manager said: 'It was great to see people learning new skills and really getting to grips with how social media can benefit these businesses.'
The next session on Wednesday, April 17, focuses on understanding e-commerce and websites. It takes place at 5.45pm at Okehampton Business Centre.
There will also be a further session, 'Advertising on a Budget', on May 15. This also takes place at the business centre from 5.45pm.
