Devon Premier Cup Chagford 2 Plymouth Parkway 4 CHAGFORD welcomed Plymouth Parkway in the second round of the cup and it was the Plymouth team that deservedly won a hard fought tie. From the start Parkway controlled the game, passing the ball quickly and accurately. Their pace and movement off the ball meant that for most of the first half Chagford were left watching and the 3-0 scoreline in favour of the visitors at half-time was a fair reflection of their domination. But Chagford did not give up and with a change in the formation at half-time started to work their way back as they saw more of the ball and were able to build attacks of their own. Top scorer Andrew Davis should have pulled one back when put through one on one with the keeper but his shot was well saved. But Chagford?s hope of making a real game of it suffered a big blow only ten minutes into the second half when Warwick Botham was sent off for a second bookable offence. Despite this, it was the ten men who got the next goal when a well placed lob by Simon Ralph from the edge of the box looped in to make it 3-1. Unfortunately for Chagford this just served to stir the visitors into action and almost immediately they restored their three-goal advantage when some sloppy defending allowed Parkway to get in for their fourth. Chagford continued to battle and got the last goal of the game when Christian and Robin Crowther-Smith combined to give Christian a chance to crack a left-footed shot into the bottom corner.
