A CHRISTMAS lunch at Tamar Valley Methodist Church was well supported, with visitors from the village and other parts of the Callington and Gunnislake Circuit.

The lunch was prepared and served by members of the church. Following the meal, carols were sung to the accompaniment of Barbara Pine on the piano accordion. Proceeds from the lunch will be donated to ShelterBox.

There was a large attendance at the annual carol service at the same venue on Sunday. The service was conducted by Rev Martyn Smith, superintendent minister of Callington and Gunnislake Methodist Circuit, and the organist was Joan Bose. Lessons were read by representatives of the various organisations who use the building, as well as church members.

Readers were Jef Hearn, church member, Sylvia Milford, Albaston WI, Sally Iles, church member, Joan Bose, U3A; Anne Edwards, Knit and Natter group; John Snell, Calstock Parish Local History Group and Charles Pearce, church member.

The collection will be donated to ShelterBox.
