NORTHLEW will be celebrating this weekend with a day of revelry to mark the culmination of a major village project funded by a Tarka Country Millennium Award.

As part of the project, the old village pump has been restored to act as a symbol of times past for generations to come. A free information leaflet has also been produced, celebrating village history and the beautiful surrounding countryside.

The project funding also provided a range of free training opportunities for villagers and paid for the organisation of the celebration day, complete with professional musicians and a well known artist working with the primary school children, Northlew Silver Band and the Packhorse Singers.

A group of Northlew residents will celebrate the completion of the Northlew Village project this Saturday from 3pm in the village square. All are welcome. The day?s events will begin with a walk around the parish, followed by music, song and dance.

Helena Williams, one of the people who helped put the project together thanked the parish council, the church, chapel, school and the Victory Hall committee
