PARENTS and grandparents were invited to Mary Tavy and Brentor School recently to enjoy a tea party to celebrate VE Day as part of a topic based on world war two.
The children prepared typical 1940s food themselves, including spam sandwiches, and sold food that they had grown in the school allotment as part of the 'Dig for Victory' theme.
The children and staff dressed up in world war two costumes and one parent entered into the spirit of things by dressing up as wartime Prime Minister Winston Churchill.
