THE 103rd Gardening Club show of Bere Ferrers Horticultural Society took place on July 30 at Bere Alston CP School. A cavalcade of colour greeted visitors and exhibitors as they viewed the 151 classes on display which included photography with special classes for primary and secondary school pupils.
In has been a difficult year but those in the Bere Peninsula have overcome the temperamental weather, the judges declaring a very high standard and sincere thanks to Mr R Shaw and Mr P Baker (flowers and vegetables), Mrs Iris Snell (Floral Art), Mrs A Yeo (domestic) Mrs E Foster (handi-crafts and children) and Mr John Hooper (photography).
