TAVISTOCK Musical Theatre company are presenting the very funny comedy play by Richard Harris 'Stepping Out' at the Wharf Theatre Tavistock from Wednesday May 16 to Saturday May 19, including a matinée performance on Saturday.

'Stepping Out' follows the lives, loves and anxieties of an assorted group of ladies, plus one man, through their weekly tap dancing classes in preparation for their one night of fame performing a tap dancing finale at a charity show.

Following sell-out performances for 'The King and I' last year, 'Stepping Out' is a new departure for the company as, basically, a straight play although with some interesting and ernest dance routines!

Full of laughter and good humour 'Stepping Out' is an uplifting experience guaranteed to raise the gloomiest spirits.

A young and enthusiastic cast, with several new faces, have been rehearsing three times a week and invite you to join them at the Wharf to share their hilarious experiences as they prepare for their Big Night.

Abi Potter takes on the role of the dancing teacher Mavis Turner, endeavouring to instruct in the art of tap dancing her assortment of hopeful ladies. These are played by Tresca Pascoe, Debbie Jarman, Julie Curtis, Sue Bolt, Sue Tugwell, Peggy Hart and Jan Demery plus the solitary and reluctant male Geoffrey, played by Lee Jarman.

The cast of young hopefuls is watched over by the formidable and pessimistic pianist Mrs Fraser, played by Margaret Crook.
