FUNDS raised at Sunday?s charity cricket match at Yelverton in aid of the Children?s Hospice South West are expected to exceed £1,000. Lots of families came along to enjoy an afternoon of cricket at the Yelverton Bohemians Cricket Field where Mainstone Social Club in Plymouth beat the Devon Tors at Yelverton by 18 runs. The match was followed by a charity auction, buffet, raffle, pool, darts and karaoke at the Devon Tors. Chairman of the Buckland Monachorum Area Friends Group Linda Downing said the event was a great success: ?The auction, raffle and donations made £500 and all the sponsor money for the cricket match is yet to come in,? she said. ?We think the day will have raised over £1,000 which is brilliant and I would like to thank everyone who donated prizes for the raffle and came along to support the event.?
