YOUNGSTERS in Walkhampton are having extra fun in their community play park this summer, thanks to a cash boost from a national building society. Following a request from the Tavistock branch of the Yorkshire Building Society, the company has donated £350 to the play park, which has been spent on hopscotch slabs and swing bars. The play park has been developed using money raised locally and from community donations ? it is now well established and in regular use by residents in the area. Graham Charlesworth of the Yorkshire Building Society said: ?We are delighted to support the play park. ?In an age dominated by technology, it is important children have somewhere to go for fresh air. ?This project is exactly the type of initiative our community investment fund was set up to support.?
