THE MAYOR of Okehampton Janet Carpenter presented Flight Sergeant Dave Wilkinson with a cheque for £500 during a recent visit to the 2443 squadron headquarters in Okehampton.

The cheque from Okehampton Town Council will be used to buy a gazebo decorated with the Okehampton air cadets corps logo for the cadets to take to events in the Okehampton area.

The mayor also presented cadet Izabella Kinsey with her Bronze Level Cyber Badge, which teaches youngsters the skills and knowledge required to protect themselves online and using digital communications. Meanwhile cadet Joseph Luffingham received his Leading Cadet Badge, in recognition of him completing his intermediate training in airmanship knowledge and the principles of flight and basic navigation using a map and compass.
