SIMON and Catherine Standing are the very lucky winners of an original Rozanne Bell painting — the first prize in the Tavistock Lions Club's carnival draw this summer. The painting created so much interest and demand for tickets that, for the first time ever, the draw was a complete sell-out, raising just over £1,500 for carnival funds. Lions president Steve Grummitt said the club was very much indebted to Tavistock Picture Framing Gallery, which donated the painting, for its continued support . He added that as all the other prizes had been donated and the printing of the tickets had been sponsored by Sally and Godfrey Perkins of the Tavy Club, the £1,500 taken in ticket sales was all profit — a fantastic result.
