THE fire and rescue service were called to a fire at a barn in Buckland Monachorum on Tuesday morning.

Two engines from Yelverton and Bere Alston and the water foam carrier attended the incident. Upon arrival crews confirmed the fire involved a caravan adjacent to the barn.

They used two hosereel jets, a triple extension ladder and small tools to deal with the fire.

The timber gable end of the barn was slightly damaged by the fire and the caravan was destroyed.
