SHOPPERS in East Cornwall will be able to park for 10p or less in Caradon District Council?s car parks from August 1. At Caradon?s full council meeting last week members voted by 21 to 10 to approve changes to car parking fees and enhance the existing Caradon?s residents? discounted parking card to give local residents up to 100 hours of free parking. The reduction in the charge for the first hour of parking means shoppers in Callington will save 60p on the current charge in the New Road car park. Caradon parking cards can now be obtained free of charge and the £5 credit on them will allow residents to get up to 100 one-hour parking sessions free or use it towards longer stays. Two people per household will be able to apply for a card.
