AT the forthcoming General Election, the UK Independence Party is campaigning for Britain?s withdrawal from the European Union, not as an isolated goal but as a key step in building a free and fair Britain. Withdrawal will mean we can:- l stop wasting £30-million a day on Brussels (or £300,000 a week from West Devon and Torridge alone); instead we can help our pensioners (by raising state pensions by £25 per week) and the underprivileged, and increase funding for schools, hospitals, the police and armed forces, all without having to increase taxes l take charge of British farming by scrapping the Common Agricultural Policy and reinstating the deficiency payments system of support l recover control of our fishing grounds and put our fishermen back to work l set Britain free from Brussels? red tape which now accounts for two thirds of our laws l reject the Euro and the European Constitution which pave the way for EU control of our economic, employment, foreign and security policies l regain control of our borders and enforce a realistic but humane immigration and asylum policy. All the old parties ? Conservatives, Liberal Democrats and Labour ? support our continued EU membership and remain blind to the possibilities which withdrawal would offer. Only UKIP offers an alternative way forward for this country and the prospect of a sovereign, independent nation with the ability to run its own affairs. At last year?s European Elections, UKIP topped the poll in West Devon and Torridge, beating all the old parties. And this was not an isolated success as UKIP achieved the most votes throughout Devon and Cornwall. If this success was repeated at the General Election, UKIP would return 20 MPs to Westminster. So beware those who say that a vote for UKIP is a wasted vote. With the Tories and Liberal Democrats languishing behind Labour in the polls and neither having any prospect of forming the next Government, it is a vote for the old opposition parties which represents a wasted opportunity. Instead, a vote for UKIP would put West Devon and Torridge well and truly on the map and at the forefront of the crusade to restore our independence. No other vote would have that effect. There could not be more at stake at the forthcoming General Election so make the right choice on May 5 ? vote UKIP.
