THE Cancer Research UK group in Okehampton is looking for fresh blood to join its committee.

The fundraising group is holding its AGM in Fairplace Church in the town on Wednesday, March 14 at 3pm – and is appealing for anyone who might be able to help to come along.

‘The actual committee meetings are only three or four times a year, so it is not a huge commitment,’ said Brenda Hockridge from the group.

‘We also hold fundraising events like coffee mornings throughout the year.

‘Our numbers are getting much smaller and we are not as young as we used to be, so we would like to recruit some more members to help out.’
