CELEBRATIONS for the bi-centenary of the Tavistock Canal will include a Canal Birthday Amble next Thursday, June 29.

The walk will be led by local naturalist Martin Summers, and will be on the level through Tavistock Meadows to Bedford Bridge and beyond. The walk will start at The Wharf at 7pm and whether the tunnel is reached will depend on the interest found en route.
