IT has been another fantastic success for our Macmillan Cancer Relief coffee morning and this letter is the only way we could possibly reach most of the 104 people who came and the many others who contributed, to say ?thank you? so much for helping to raise the magnificent sum of £539.46, breaking all previous records.
It never ceases to amaze us how each year is an improvement on the one before but this year, unfortunately our last, has exceeded all expectations.
It is now ten years since Dad died and it was some time after that Mum and I heard of this wonderful idea of holing coffee mornings all over the country to raise funds for the Macmillan Nurses who, along with the Marie Curie angels were there for us when we needed them.
So we decided it would be a fun way to show our appreciation and raise money to continue this support for others. Now the time has come for us to offer someone else the opportunity to say ?thank you? to the Macmillans.
Have you a reason to thank them too? If so perhaps you would like to host a coffee morning next year and continue the fun with millions of others all over the country! Please let us know if you are interested.
Thank you once again to everyone, including the kind gentleman who brought a mug full of pound coins he had saved and to the anonymous person who pushed a £10 note through my letterbox the following day, but also to the helpers who made it all
possible, yet again.
Our thanks to you all for the support over the years and for helping to make life just a little happier for those living with cancer.
