HATHERLEIGH and Okehampton Cats Protection branch is hoping for a purr-fect ending to its endeavours to find a new home for mother and daughter cats.

Micha and Sooty are two white female cats aged nine and eleven years. Following a family bereavement and a change of circumstances, the cats came into the care of Hatherleigh and Okehampton Cats Protection for re-homing.

Both cats had cancer of the ear, due to the sun, and had to have an operation to remove their ear-tips. The fur has grown back and gives them rather a cute appearance. The cancer will not recur and both cats are now fit and healthy.

The cats have been in the charity?s pens for seven months, as, because of their age, they have been overlooked in favour of younger cats and kittens.

Joan Hutchison, branch co-ordinator for Cats Protection says: ?They are a very affectionate, gentle pair, and all they ask from life is a quiet corner to live out their lives, if possible, together.?

The cats are currently being fostered by Peggy Garvey from Lydford, but Cats Protection want to find a permanent home for Micha and Sooty. Anyone who can help is asked to contact Mrs Hutchison on 01837 840610.
