I NOW live in Suffolk and know little of the Okehampton area before my first visits back in the late ?60?s and wonder if any of your readers can oblige me with some information. I am nearing completion of a long rebuild of a BSA motorcycle to original condition.To this end I am trying to compile a history of the bike from leaving the factory in Birmingham to present day. The DVLA and the Owners Club have been very helpful and I now know that the bike was despatched from the factory to a BSA Dealer named ?Cairns of Okehampton? in 1962. I believe this company is no longer in business. If any reader has any information or photographs of ?Cairns? from around that time I would very much like to hear of it and for their time will gladly supply a picture of the bike in its present condition for the time taken in trying to help trace its history.
