CALLINGTON Town FC completed an eventful season with their end of season presentation at Trethorne Golf and Country Club. Town chairman Andrew Long congratulated the players, officials and supporters for an encouraging second half of the season after the drama of the opening weeks, and looked forward to the coming season with renewed enthusiasm. The awards were presented for the three teams by the managers, and the club sponsors Tile Ambitions, of Pensilva.   Winner of the first team players' player was 17-year- old striker Dan Pethick, with German defender Sebastian Justel winning the manager's player trophy. Pethick also won the leading goalscorer's accolade while stalwart Chris Canham picked up the clubman of the year trophy and the supporters' player award. For the second team, manager Steve Blatchford presented the players' player award to Ben Edmundson, who also won the leading goalscorer's trophy. The manager's award went jointly to brothers Mike and Simon Hancock. The ladies' team awards saw the players' player award go to Marie Wilson, with the manager's winner being Kate Bourn. The leading goalscorer for the ladies was Sarah Blowey. Pre-season training has started at the ground in preparation for the coming campaign, with the first fixtures for the SW Peninsula League already having been announced.  Callington begin the new campaign with a trio of home games. On Saturday August 16 Newquay are the visitors. Last season's champions Porthleven make the trip up to Ginsters Marshfield Parc on Saturday, August 23.
