A SCHOOL reunion which will see hundreds of former students and many former teachers is being staged in Plymouth — but a call has been made to West Devon residents who may have also attended.
The reunion is for all former staff and pupils of Stoke Damerel High School for Girls in Plymouth and proceeds from the event will go to the children's bereavement charity 'Jeremiah's Journey'.
Beverley Kinsella, neé Paull, was a pupil at the school from 1980 to 1985 and has organised the reunion.
She said: 'It is a Plymouth school but I know that a lot of the former pupils live on the moors.
'Two hundred former pupils are coming and nearly 20 teachers. One of the ladies coming started in 1928. I also have some that were evacutated to Truro in the war and others who stayed in Plymouth and attended the Emergency High School.
'Miss Dixon who was the headmistress from 1959 to 1979 and the last headmistress Miss Squire are among the staff who will be coming — Miss Squire taught at the school from 1955 until the school closed in 1986.'
The reunion is being held at Marjon in Plymouth on October 10.
Tickets need to be bought in advance. For tickets or for more information contact Mrs Kinsella on 01752 773323 or email [email protected]">[email protected]
