THE Okehampton branch of the Royal British Legion is facing closure unless new members come forward. Anyone interested in joining the committee is urged to come along to a 3pm meeting at the Okehampton RBL club in Station Road on Saturday, October 30.

Spokesman Peter Woodward said: ‘The Royal British Legion was 100 years old on May 15 this year and the Okehampton branch will be 100 years old in 2025. 'If it is to continue, a committee must be formed and all the roles filled. With Covid-19 restrictions and the lack of meetings, illness, age and many other factors at present we do not have a committee.
