THE action plan for Okehampton needs updating, a town councillor urged last week.
Former mayor Cllr Kay Bickley told members of the planning committee that the action plan was five years old and it was time to decide where the town wanted to go with it.
She said: 'All towns and parishes are being encouraged to have a community action plan — time moves on and towns move on.
'Many of the things on the old plan have been completed, like the creation of a community cinema and the development of the farmers' market.
'But there are still questions like what are we going to do about the library — does it move or does it stay put?
'A development plan doesn't mean it is necessarily going to happen, but we can ask the community if they still want us to work on certain things.'
Members decided to go out on the streets of Okehampton to look at the key issues that need tackling.
