CADETS and staff from 2443 Okehampton Squadron Air Training Corps had a busy half term week with several cadets participating in Ten Tors training at RAF Portreath.

Cadets spent a day with Dartmoor National Park Ranger, Ian Brooker, and cleared an area of gorse on the Saxongate settlement near Okehampton Camp.

They spent the following day at Lydford Gorge where they undertook copicing and shelter building, organised by Lydford Gorge warden and civilian instructor with the squadron, Adrian Shaw.

Cadets Harley Bradford, Harry Greaves and Joe Seymour participated in the inter-wing netball and rugby competitions with Cadet Bradford returning home with a gold medal, and Cadets Seymour and Greaves with silver medals.

2443 Okehampton Squadron are currently accepting new cadets. Anyone interested and who is aged 13 to 17 can attend the squadron HQ on Tors Road, Okehampton, on Monday or Thursday nights.
