A FIRE crew was called to Bere Alston last Wednesday (April 10), after high voltage cables were sparking and on fire within a field.

An electricity pole in the field at Broad Park Road had snapped off and was on fire.

Firefighters from Bere Alston made the scene safe and left the incident in the hands of Western Power.
