Cab rank in high street

A TEMPORARY taxi rank is to be provided in Fore Street, Okehampton, between the hours of 7pm and 3am.

The move is in response to some local concerns about the location of the new taxi rank in Market Street for women walking alone at night.

Because the new rank is away from the main street it was considered that women walking to the area may be more vulnerable.

The issue was recently discussed at a Liaison Committee meeting between Okehampton Town Council and West Devon Borough Council.

Two spaces will be provided for taxis outside Forbuoys between the hours of 7pm and 3am.
