TAVISTOCK business Charitable Giving took great pleasure in hosting a lunch party at their offices in Pitts Cleave last week to mark the official retirement of founder and director Bill Lane.

Bill, aged 84, has been the cornerstone of the operation which from humble beginnings in 1987 has grown to be the third largest HMRC approved payroll giving agency in the country.

Staff and trustees invited local wildlife artist Robin Armstrong to present Bill with the retirement gift they had arranged for him – an original painting of a moorland brown trout.

The painting was a fitting tribute as it will come as no surprise to those who know Bill that he intends to spend his spare time on the riverbank! His connection with Charitable Giving will continue as he will remain on the board of trustees for the foreseeable future.
