BRICKS away! Tavistock Community Football Club's Mhairi McCall has her name engraved in stone to kick off the Buy a Brick for Crowndale appeal, which aims to help raise funds to complete the huge Tavistock sports project.

Building work has just begun on the exciting £1.8-million complex which, when completed later this year, will see six new pitches, a new grandstand, five new sets of changing rooms, and a community room with car parking.

Now fundraisers are hoping that the people of the town will support the project further with their Buy a Brick appeal.

Each brick bought will have the sponsor's name specially engraved on it. It could be the name of someone in your family, a club or even a business.

The named bricks, costing £20 each, will then be used within the new building.

Sue Hammond, Chair of Tavistock Community Football Club, said: 'The appeal is a great way for people to show their support.

'So many have asked us what they can do to help. Buying one of our named bricks will bring in vital funding and make a huge difference.

'The named bricks are also a unique way to leave your footprint for posterity. They will make a great show and add to the attraction of the building.'
