WITH reference to last week?s front page news that there is a proposal to have a nightclub in the King?s building, I am writing from a resident?s perspective. Undoubtedly, there is no dispute that a facility offering dancing and drinking within the right environment would be of benefit to local people. However, the club will attract non-locals to a quiet residential area where the reality of potentially 400 ?clubbers? attending three nights a week until 1am is daunting to say the least. To those who are in favour can I suggest they view our reality in noise and late-night drunken behaviour, and the inevitable fights that will undoubtedly occur. The local residents quite rightly do feel strongly and suggest a more reasonable out of town location as the ideal venue. This would upset no-one and would not impact on our quiet community.
