OKEHAMPTON Golf Club has had a very busy week which started with the Vets Autumn three Ball Open on September 19.

More than 150 competitors took part and the overall winners with 78 points were Denis Adams, Jim Oakley and Owen Howe from Okehampton. Second overall were a team from Holsworthy consisting of T Moor, B Axford and R Daniel with 77 points.

On September 20 once again a large field took part in the Society Organisers and Sponsors Golf Tournament. Despite the damp conditions an enjoyable day was had by all and the winners were Dave Holsey and Kevin Lovell representing the Belrose Golf Society.

On September 24 a 3 ball two to count Stableford was held. Winners of Division 1 were Dave Bickle, Evan Rees and Del Nash with 78 points. Second came Sam Woollacott, Alan Jeffrey and Andy Dyer with 76 points and in third came Robin Webb, Martin Aggett and Andrew Parry with 75 points.

Division 2 was won by Neil Penfold, John Flavin and Kevin Harding with 83 points. Gerry Carpanini, Jullian Bennett and Rob Simpson were second with 75 points, and third with 72 points were Pete Grimley, Terry Steer and Paul Fewings.

On September 25 the club held its mixed open which was a four ball better ball team event.

The overall winners were K Mundy, C Skrzypczak, D Nash and D Williams from Holsworthy, Truro and Okehampton with 76 points.

Best combination prize went to Mr and Mrs D Keir (Okehampton) and Mr and Mrs R Slee (Launceston) with 71 points.
