FIREFIGHTERS from Tavistock attended two fires in the Crelake area of Tavistock and a road traffic accident at Chipshop on Friday evening.

A gas cooker was on fire in the ground floor kitchen of a property in Drake Gardens at 7pm but was out on arrival of fire crews who inspected the property wearing breathing apparatus.

The cooker was removed and the property ventilated. The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental.

A car fire was extinguished by firefighters just after 8pm at Crelake Park. Again the cause is thought to be accidental.

The crew was called to a single car accident on the B3362 just before 11pm where they found a car on its roof.

A man had freed himself from the vehicle before the crew arrived and the vehicle was made safe.
