FIRE crews from Tavistock have been busy over the past week attending property fires and a vehicle blaze.
Two crews were called to a property on Greensway Road, Tavistock on Saturday and found a tumble dryer well alight and smoke issuing from the garage.
Firefighters attended the property at 6.25pm wearing breathing apparatus and used one hose reel jet to extinguish the blaze.
Crews ventilated the garage and checked the area with a thermal imaging camera.
The cause of the fire was believed to be accidental. The garage sustained severe damage by smoke and fire.
Firefighters were called to a terraced property in Grenville Drive, Tavistock on Sunday after a report of a cooker fire.
Two crews attended just after 3.20pm and confirmed there was a small fire in the kitchen. Firefighters extinguished the fire using small tools, one hose reel jet and a thermal imaging camera.
The kitchen suffered 5% heat damage.
Crews attended an incident involving a vehicle on fire in Parkwood Road, Tavistock at around 2.30am on Tuesday.
On arrival, the crew found a van on private land on fire. They requested assistance from an additional crew as the vehicle was well alight.
The crews used two breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet to extinguish the blaze.
The van was left severely damaged by the fire, the cause of which was believed to be deliberate.
