A FEAST of entertainment is on the cards in a West Devon village from tomorrow (Friday), making up the Horrabridge Festival ? the first time such an event has been held. The festivities start tomorrow evening with a classical guitar concert by the internationally renowned guitarist John Mills who will be playing ?Guitar Music from Europe and The Americas?. The concert will be held in St. John?s Church at 7.30pm with light refreshments available. The next event will be a poetry evening on Wednesday September 20, entitled ?An Evening with Elizabeth Rowe?. Elizabeth is a local poet who with others will be reading a selection of her own works. The event will be held in Horrabridge Methodist Church Hall at 7.30pm and refreshments will again be available. On Friday September 22 St John?s Church will be the venue for a concert by ?The South West Brass Quintet?. The event starts at 8.00pm. On Saturday September 23 there will be an open air jazz concert when entertainment will be provided by John Shillitoe and His Select Four. This event will last from 3pm until 6pm and will take place in Weir Park, by the river in Horrabridge. If the weather is bad, the concert will be performed in the school hall. Barbecued food will be available supplied by the Horrabridge Cavaliers. The Festival finishes with another open air concert in Weir Park on Sunday September 24 by the Stannary Brass Band at 3.00pm, followed by a Songs of Praise.
