TRANSPORT company Gregory Distribution Ltd has assured that its head office will remain in North Tawton despite plans for a new distribution depot to open in Plymouth.
Plans were revealed in May last year that Gregory Distribution was to build a large warehouse on land where the Toshiba factory used to stand in Plymouth.
A Gregory Distribution spokesperson said that the company’s headquarters remain in North Tawton and that the Plymouth build be a Kay Transport centre — a member of the Gregory Group of companies.
Gregory Distribution has ensured that the head office in North Tawton, the distribution centre at Cullompton, along with depots in South Molton and Newton Abbot will remain operational and will not be effected by the new developments.
Gregory Distribution was founded in 1919 and is one of the country’s biggest transport companies. It operates heavily in the South West, but extends all the way to Scotland and mainland Europe.
Its lorries ship products for clients ranging from Coca-Cola to milk companies and even local councils.
Kay Transport, established in 1979, is a member of the Gregory Group and is a a privately-owned distribution and logistics business based in the West of England with transport networks covering the whole of the UK.
