A YOUNG artist has won a competition to design an Okehampton fuel company’s Christmas card for customers.

Caleb Karkeek’s design shows Moorland Fuels’ drivers making festive deliveries in a snowy scene bedecked with snowflakes.

Caleb, 11, from Bow, entered through his school, Bow Primary School.

The card will be sent to Moorland Fuels’ Gold Service Customers and handed out by drivers throughout December.

This is the sixth year the fuel distributor has involved children in designing its Christmas card. This year more than 300 children from several different schools throughout the area participated.

‘This is a fun competition every year,’ said Moorland Fuels’ managing director Ben More. ‘It is getting harder to make a decision on the winner because all the entries were at such a high standard.

‘Caleb’s entry was chosen as the winning design because of his attention to detail and the beautiful snowflakes. His card really captured a wintry feel with its snowy scene, festive figures and Christmas tree. The bright green tanker really stood out.’

Caleb has won a family day out at Crealy Adventure Park and Moorland Fuels has donated £25 to his chosen charity Devon Air Ambulance Trust. He chose the Devon Air Ambulance because his grandfather was airlifted to hospital by the charity several years ago.
