A burglary at Spar, a tipper trailer theft and a brick thrown through a window feature in this week’s Tavistock area crimes.
• A BRICK was thrown through a window of someone’s home in Broad Park Road in Bere Alston sometime between Tuesday, December 12 at 12 noon and breakfast time the following day. The brick also smashed a table lamp inside the living room, CR107961.
• FOUR women were foiled by staff as they walked out of New Look with a bagful of clothes.
The attempted theft happened just before 12.15pm on Wednesday, December 13 in the store in Brook Street, Tavistock. On being challenged by staff, they dropped the two bags, containing a coat, jeans and shoes worth £200, and fled the scene, CR108029.
• A ROW erupted between two men walking their dogs in Bensons Meadow, Tavistock on Sunday morning, December 10. It was apparently sparked by one dog attacking the other. Words were exchanged and one man allegedly shoved the other one, CR107115.
• VANDALS damaged a potting table in a polytunnel at Princetown Pavilion Youth Club sometime between midnight on Wednesday, December 6 and 9am on Friday, December 8, CR106590.
• BOY racers were seen carving up the surface of a car park in Tavistock Road, Princetown between 1am and 2am early on Saturday morning. They were reported to be doing ‘doughnuts’ in vehicles, CR106957.
• AN IVOR Williams tipper trailer containing tools and car accessories, worth a total of £2,000, has been stolen from fields at Gulworthy. The theft took place sometime between Saturday November 11 and Tuesday, November 28, CR107293.
• POLICE would like to speak to a man, described as white, 6ft tall, slim build, wearing a high-vis jacket and trousers, in connection with a burglary at The Spar Post Office in Tavistock on December 16. The incident took place at 10pm and saw someone walk into the private office of the shop and walk out with £160. CR/108995/17.
