FIREFIGHTERS from three different stations in West Devon attended a fire at a bungalow in Black Torrington last Saturday. In the early hours of the morning firefighters from Okehampton, North Tawton, Hatherleigh and Holsworthy arrived at the scene to find the roof space of the property was well alight. Firefighters used four breathing apparatus and three hose reel jets to tackle the blaze, which left 70% of the roof space severely damaged. l Firefighters were called to a kitchen fire at a property on Station View at Sampford Courtenay last Saturday. One crew from North Tawton and one from Okehampton attended the scene just after 10.50am. On arrival firefighters found a woman suffering from smoke inhalation, who was then treated at the scene by ambulance staff. Firefighters used one hose reel jet and two breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire located in the ground floor kitchen.
