AT the BMX Bournemouth National on June 11 a technical track saw a lot of accidents and 13 broken bones, unfortunately Ian Rooke was one of them with a broken elbow.
Andy Maddock, however, battled onto a good second place in the 15/16 cruisers and despite falling in the 16s expert managed to finish sixth.
At the Bideford National on July 2 Andy Maddock was away sunning himself in Ibiza. Ian Rooke, after radical laser treatment on his broken elbow, was fit to ride, but had to contend with tonsilitis. He managed a creditable third in the 13/14 cruisers and more importantly second in the 13 expert, putting him back on top of the National Series by three points.
Ian is off to France next week for the European Championships where he will be defending his number 4, then the week after to Argentina for the world championships.
He expressed thanks to the local businesses that have sponsored him, Revell Bikes, DML, Abbotsfield Hall, Central Motors, SWEB, and Manton Electrical and of course, his mother and father.
