A BROADCASTER from Tavistock will be joining a celebrity choir this Saturday (December 22) to sing Britain?s ten most popular Christmas songs for a televised concert. Steve Wilson, a former Tavistock College student, has been rehearsing alongside stars including TV presenter Gaby Roslin, singer and presenter Kim Wilde, actress Charlie Brooks, TV presenter Craig Doyle and singer Antony Costa. The public have already voting for their favourite seasonal songs from a list of carols and pop classics. The celebrities are being coached by Fame Academy?s David and Carrie Grant, and will be backed by professional singers and the London Philharmonic Orchestra. The actor and TV presenter will be singing solo parts in Wham?s ?Last Christmas? and Brenda Lee?s ?Rocking Around the Christmas Tree?. Viewers will be able to download their favourite tracks with proceeds going to the Prince?s Trust charity. After a busy year with Fern Britton and Philip Schofield on the daily ITV programme ?This Morning?, Steve, his wife and new baby will be returning home to spend Christmas with his family near Horsebridge. ?Britain Sings Christmas? will be hosted by Kate Thornton and shown on ITV at 7.15pm.
