Jeffreys Estate Agents Cup quarter-final

Lamerton 5

Callington 0

LAMERTON progressed into the semi-fnals with a good win over local rivals Callington.

The first 20 minutes was quiet, the best chance falling to Paul Cowling whose close range effort was saved by the Callington keeper.

The first goal came when a Panda Williams corner was headed in at the far post by man of the match Sean Cann. Shortly afterwards the lead was doubled when a Cowling through-ball was walked into the net by Lee Wickett following a defensive mix-up.

The home side took control in the second half and the goal of the match came when Wickett beat three men in the area to bag his second.

The fourth came when Wickett set up Simon Pocknell to score from close range and Cowling got a deserved final goal to cap an excellent display by the 14 players on show for Lamerton.

As a reward for the victory they will face Premier side Biscovey in the semi-final.

This Saturday sees a return to league action with an away game against St Giles (kick-off 2.30pm).
