VIEWS on the proposed Thorndon Cross to Halwill Junction bridleway which uses the route of the former railway line will be up for discussion at the meeting of the Devon Local Access Forum next week. The forum, which advises on ways of improving access to and enjoyment of the countryside, will hold its tenth meeting on Tuesday, September 13. The public are welcome to attend the meeting at County Hall in Exeter at 6pm. As well as consulting on the proposed bridleway another key item on the agenda will be a progress report from the county council on opening up and signing the new areas of land which became accessible to the public at the end of August. County council officers will report on the recently published Rights of Way Improvement Plan. The forum will also welcome several new members, Peter Grainger, Peter Thorn, Kate Wass and Graham White who were appointed earlier in the year and county councillors Joe Tucker and Phil Brock, chairman and vice-chairman of the council?s public rights of way committee.
